The American people cry out for national heath care. When given a public option, people and critics cry foul. When given a privateMcHenry County Gazette, McHenry County Illinois, McHenry County Il Blog, McHenry County Il Blog A little of this and that, Illinois, mchenry-county-il.blogspot.com, Health Care, National Health Insurance, Obama, Government option, people and critics cry foul.
Why do we need national health care in the first place? The way I see it, there are two types of people that don’t have health insurance. There are people who simply cannot afford to pay some of the high premiums. Others would simply rather buy a luxury car. What does a luxury car have to do with it? I do know a few people who had bought a luxury car or a big fancy boat and declined to have insurance in order to pay for their toys. Whether I like it or not, at some point, I will be paying for these people’s medical bills. What will end up happening is that these people may incur a medial debt that will force them into bankruptcy. Medical facilities would lose money and turn to the government for relief. Where do you think that money will come from? The taxes that I pay.
The bottom line: we need national health care. Obama’s critics keep derailing his health reform with false claims. If the government is going to require everyone to have health insurance, the only option is a government-run health insurance programs for people who cannot afford private coverage. It is obvious that private insurance has run amuck and doesn’t work. It is too expensive and not everyone can afford the premiums. People who have their own businesses or who are working for an employer who does not offer health insurance have no other alternative.
We are really lucky to have a President like Obama. Guys like Bush and John McCain only cares about what’s good for big businesses and not the American people.
